WE’RE SO HAPPY YOU’RE COMING – TINY HEART IS WAITING FOR YOU!
Below we have gathered all kinds of important information about Tiny Heart, so youâll know everything you need before you arrive!
GETTING HERE
Tiny Heart is located in Nagymaros, in the Nagyhenc-dƱlĆ area, directly across from the tip of Kisoroszi Island. If you’re coming from Budapest, take the M2 motorway or Route 2, then follow Route 12 toward Nagymaros. The closest access is via FenyĆ Street and Nagyhenc-dƱlĆ. The road leading up the hill can be a bit steep and bumpy in places, so we recommend driving slowly and carefully. The house is about a 5-minute drive from the main road, tucked into the hillside at the edge of the forest. But donât just take our word for itâlet your GPS do the talking. Hereâs the map to guide you right to our door:
https://maps.app.goo.gl/kp83NnPaRcGWjvmM6
Tiny Heart is marked with a lovely sign, so youâll know when youâve arrived. We’ve set up a designated parking area inside the fence, at the lower part of the propertyâplease use this spot when you park. The driveway is secured with a safety rope for your protection. After driving in or out, please make sure to hook the rope back in place. Thank you for helping us keep the area safe and tidy!
Road conditions
In good weather, even small cars can reach Tiny Heart without any trouble. However, since the house is located on a hillside, the access roads can be more challenging in bad weather. After heavy rain, the two shorter dirt road sections may become muddy and unevenâplease drive slowly and carefully here. In snowy conditions, we highly recommend using snow chains, especially due to the steep incline, which may become slippery. If you run into any issues or have questions, donât hesitate to call usâwe’re here to help!
HOW TO OPEN THE TINY HOUSE
The key to the tiny house is stored in a lockbox, which you’ll find mounted on the back of the steps next to the hot tub, right by the terraceâjust like in the photo. Before your arrival, weâll send you the secret code to open the lockbox via email. Once you’ve taken out the key, feel free to keep it with you during your stay.

How to Use the Lockbox and Open the House:
- Set the rotating dials on the lockbox to the 4-digit code we sent you. Then pull up on the top of the lockbox to open it. Use the key to unlock the right-hand sliding door of the house. The large door handle locks when lifted up, and opens when pushed down.
- At Check-OutAfter locking the door, place the key back into the lockbox. Close the lockbox securely. Finally, scramble the dials to any random combinationâthis will lock the box.

AMENITIES AND HOW TO USE THE TINY HOUSE
At Tiny Heart, we’ve done our best to provide everything you might need for a peaceful and comfortable stay. Weâve prepared bed linens, towels, bathrobes, and other essentials, so you donât need to bring anything with you. If thereâs anything else you need during your stay, please donât hesitate to reach outâweâre happy to help!
Itâs also important to know that the tiny house was designed and is operated in line with the tiny house philosophy, with a focus on eco-conscious, sustainable living.
Power usage & lighting
Although the house was originally built as a fully off-grid system, for your comfort it is currently connected to the central power supply. This means you can turn the lights on and off anytime, and use multiple appliances at once without any issues. That said, we appreciate it if you’re mindful of energy usage – please turn off the lights when you’re not inside the house. The string lights on the terrace can be controlled with a remote (Press “1” in row 1 to turn them on, and press “0” button to turn them off).

Wifi
Tiny Heart is actually a perfect place for a little digital detox, but if you find yourself really missing the connectionâespecially in the peaceful evenings – and 4G or 5G isn’t quite cutting it, feel free to hop on the Wi-Fi.

Heating & Cooling
The tiny house is equipped with a quiet and efficient LG ArtCool air conditioner, mounted on the wall, which provides both cooling and heating as needed. You can turn it on, off, and adjust the settings using the remote control.
- In summer, if you’re heading out for a bit, feel free to switch it off – it cools the space back down very quickly when you return.
- In winter, you can use a low-energy heating mode to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature.
On your last day, before checking out, please remember to turn the unit off.
If you’d like to learn more about how it works, feel free to read the Quick User Guide weâve prepared.
Bathroom use & water supply
The water supply is powered by a large water tank holding over 1,000 liters, operated with a pump. When you enter the house, you’ll find a switch labeled “SZIVATTYĂ” (water pump) near the corner of the bed on the right-hand side. Please turn this switch on to activate the taps and water system. When you leave the house, switch it off again. We also kindly ask you to use water thoughtfully – thank you!

IMPORTANT: Please note that the water from the taps is NOT DRINKING WATER. Keep this in mind during your stayâthank you!
In the bathroom, we’ve prepared for you high-quality, natural-ingredient shower gel, shampoo and body lotion. You’ll also find toothpaste and a few other small bathroom essentials to make your stay even more comfortable.
Kitchen, welcome treats & breakfast basket
In the kitchen, you’ll find fresh coffee, a coffee maker, tea, a kettle, and all the essentials for cooking, including spices and useful extras. We also provide one bottle of still and one bottle of sparkling mineral water for you. The gas stove runs on a gas cylinder, but you donât need to worry about it – just good to know!
Feel free to bring your own groceries – thereâs plenty of space in the small fridge. But if you’d rather treat yourself, go ahead and choose our Sunrise Breakfast Basket, or any of our additional welcome packages, even last-minute. The breakfast basket will be waiting for you on the terrace in a cooler bag, filled with delicious local goodies from nearby producers – perfect to enjoy as you wake up. Our wine selection is curated from the recommendations of “BortĂĄrsasĂĄg“, and if youâre celebrating, the quality sparkling wine or Gin & Tonic Box is the perfect touch of extra indulgence.

If you’ve ordered a Sunrise Breakfast Basket for multiple mornings, we kindly ask that you place the empty dishes from the previous day back into the cooler basket, and leave it by the edge of the terrace in the evening. This way, we can quietly swap it out for a fresh breakfast early in the morning – without disturbing your sleep.
Storage spaces
Thereâs plenty of smart storage in Tiny Heart, so your bags wonât be in the way – just unpack, relax, and enjoy the space.

The large storage box on the terrace contains the cushions for the outdoor seating. If theyâre not already set out due to weather conditions, and the weather looks good, feel free to take them out and use them anytime.

Pets & smoking
Weâre happy to welcome pets – after all, everything is better for them out here in nature, too. If you’re bringing a dog or a cat, we kindly ask that you follow a few simple rules:
- Please donât allow pets on the bed or seating areas.
- Do not wash them in the indoor shower or the outdoor bathtub.
- Pets are not allowed in the sauna.
- We provide a small food and water bowl, but please bring anything else your furry friend may need for comfort and cleanliness (towel, waste bags, etc.).
- Letâs keep the garden a dog poopâfree zone, and please make sure plants are not damaged. Never leave your pet alone in the house or on the property.
Wildlife, including deer and wild boars, sometimes wander near or into the garden – exciting, but please keep an extra eye on your dog when this happens.
Smoking is not allowed inside the house or within a 5-meter radius of the cabin. This is both for fire safety and to keep the space fresh and odor-free. We appreciate your understanding!
Safety & fire protection
Nagymaros is generally a very safe area, and Nagyhenc-dƱlĆ is especially quiet and peaceful. For this reason, we havenât fenced off Tiny Heart – but to gently discourage any uninvited visitors, weâve placed two âMonitored by Cameraâ signs at the edge of the property. To keep the property and the house safe when no guests are staying, there is one camera installed on a tree in the center of the plot. This camera only monitors the driveway and entrance path. It does not overlook the house, its surroundings, the sauna, or any guest areas – when you’re here, it’s just you and nature.
Apart from the gas stove, open flames are not allowed inside the tiny house. Just to be safe, weâve placed a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink, in case of emergency.
COMPOSTING TOILET
In a modern household, we use up to 40â50 liters of clean drinking water a dayâjust to flush the toilet. Thatâs an enormous waste, which is why Tiny Heart uses a completely odor-free composting toilet.
If youâve never used a composting toilet before, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Please use the toilet only while sitting.
(Apologies to our male guests – we know itâs a bit unusual, but itâs a small adjustment in the name of sustainability. Youâll get used to it quickly!) - Toilet paper can be thrown into the rear compartment of the system.
- If needed, you can switch on the built-in fan on the side of the toilet.
Donât forget to turn it off after use. - After using the rear section, please sprinkle 2â3 scoops of cover material (found in the sealed container next to the toilet) over the waste to seal it properly.
Thatâs it! No worries – the toilet is completely odourless thanks to its smart design.
Even though the shower works in a conventional way, with just a little mindfulness and by using the compost toilet, youâll likely cut your water usage by nearly half during your stay.

OUTDOOR SOAKING TUB
Soaking in the outdoor cast iron tub with a glass of wine is a truly special experience – feel free to enjoy it! To fill the tub, remove the cover and open the outdoor tap. Before doing so, make sure to plug the drainâand donât forget to unplug it again when you’re finished. In the spirit of sustainability, we kindly ask you to be mindful of water use here as well.
Please do not use soap, shampoo, or any non-natural products in the tub.

THE GARDEN
We wanted to preserve most of the garden in its original, natural, and self-sustaining form so that it could remain an ideal habitat for the native wildflowers, plants, insects, and other local species. The result is a special little microcosm dotted with bee pastures. We also chose not to build a fence, allowing forest and woodland animals to come and go freely, keeping their trails and pathways intact. Thank you for helping to protect the life here: observe it, photograph it, cherish it. We hope it wonât compromise your comfort, but instead will offer you many wonders in return.

THE SAUNA
Our outdoor electric Finnish sauna offers a truly unique way to unwind and recharge. With its large panoramic window, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Danube and the VisegrĂĄd Hills, even while you sweat and relax.
Please read the following sauna guidelines carefully before use:
Sauna Door & Lock: The sauna door is secured with a padlock – youâll find the key inside the same lockbox as the house key.
While using the sauna, please always keep the door closed behind you. When youâre finished, secure the door with the chain and lock to keep the sauna safe and protected.
Hygiene & Towel Use: Please do not sit or lie directly on the wooden benches with bare skin. Use one of the sauna towels or bath towels provided in the house, and place it so that your entire body is covered and does not touch the wood directly. Please leave your slippers outside the sauna, near the door.

Sauna pouring ritual (Löyly): As the sauna heats up, the air inside becomes quite dry. To reach the proper humidity level, you can pour water onto the hot stones.
- Always use fresh water only when pouring.
- If you wish to use essential oils, add just a few drops to the water, not directly on the stones.
- Only perform löyly (steam pouring) at your own risk.
Please note: When water hits the hot stones, it instantly turns into hot steam. For your safety, always pour from the side, using the wooden ladle provided and never pour water directly from a bucket onto the stones. Improper use may result in damage, for which we unfortunately cannot take responsibility.
Heat, humidity and safe use:
Heat and steam affect everyone differently – feel free to explore what temperature and humidity work best for you. The hottest air rises to the upper bench, so if you’re new to sauna bathing, we recommend starting lower or taking it easy. Stay in the sauna only as long as it feels comfortableâtake breaks, step outside, cool off, and enjoy the fresh air.
If itâs your first time using a Finnish sauna or you have any doubts, feel free to call usâweâll gladly guide you through the process.
The sauna is not recommended for anyone with medical conditions that prohibit its use. Everyone uses the sauna entirely at their own risk.
Food and drinks in the sauna: No food or drinks are allowed inside the sauna. We kindly thank you in advance for following the sauna guidelines and keeping the space safe and enjoyable for all.
Using the sauna

Turning on the heater
Turn the timer switch to the right, into the âAâ (Heating) zone (see Figure 2, section A, 0â4 hours). The heater will start heating immediately, and the timer will begin counting down.
Delayed start (Preset timer)
Turn the timer switch into the âBâ zone (Preset Timer) â see Figure 2, section B, 0â8 hours. In this mode, the heater will automatically start heating once the timer dial slowly returns to the âAâ (Heating) zone. After that, the heater will stay on for approximately four hours.
Example: Letâs say youâre planning to go for a 3-hour hike, and youâd like the sauna to be ready when you return. Simply turn the dial into the preset (B) zone, up to â2â on the scale. The timer begins counting down. After 2 hours, the heater switches on. It takes about 1 hour to fully heat the sauna – so it will be ready in 3 hours, right when you get back from your walk.
Turning off the heater
When the timer dial returns to the â0â position, the heater will automatically turn off.
You can also manually turn it off at any time by rotating the dial back to â0â yourself. After using the sauna, please make sure to switch off the heater. Sometimes it’s a good idea to leave it on for a little while longer, so the wooden interior can dry out properly.
IMPORTANT! Always double-check that the heater has actually turned off and stopped heating once the dial is back at zero!
Setting the temperature
The thermostat (see Figure 3) is used to maintain your desired temperature inside the sauna cabin. Feel free to experiment and find the level that feels best for you. Start by turning the dial to the maximum setting. If the temperature becomes too high during your sauna session, simply turn the dial slightly counterclockwise to lower it.
Please note: In the maximum range, even a small adjustment can cause a significant change in the sauna’s temperature.
Pouring water on the hot stones & using sauna oils
Pour 1â2 liters of fresh water into the sauna bucket. If you feel the air is too dry, you can ladle 2â3 scoops of water onto the hot sauna stones. Wait and see how the humidity level changes – find what feels most comfortable for you.
Want something extra? Try one of the organic sauna oils weâve provided in the bathroom. Add about 1 to 4 drops of oil to 1 liter of water, and mix well in the bucket. Never pour oil directly onto the hot stones! Explore and adjust the amount until you find your ideal scent intensity.
Sauna lights
The sauna cabin is softly lit with LED lights installed under the bench. You can adjust the colour and brightness using the remote control panel provided.

IMPORTANT! The maximum volume of the ladle is 0.2 liters. Pouring too much water onto the hot stones will result in only part of it evaporating, while the rest may splash back as boiling water, posing a burn risk to anyone nearby. Never pour water onto the stones when someone is standing close to the heater, as the hot steam can burn the skin.
IMPORTANT! The water poured onto the heated stones must meet the standards of clean household water.
FIRE PIT & GRILLING AREA
Our fire pit offers a true campfire atmosphere high above the Danube Bend – the perfect spot for cozy evenings under the stars. The cast iron fire pit and grill can be used with charcoal, firewood, or grill briquettes. We’ve prepared firewood for you, which we think is the most authentic choice. We hope youâll enjoy some magical evenings here – and maybe even cook something delicious over the flames!
Please make sure to use the spark screen made of steel mesh to protect against flying embers, and the 64 cm stainless steel grill grate – perfect for preparing tasty meats or vegetables over the fire.
Lighting a fire and using the outdoor fireplace is entirely at your own risk. To ensure your safety and protect the fire pit, please follow these important tips:
- Never leave the fire unattended;
- Start with a small fire (max. 3 logs) and let it grow gradually;
If the temperature rises too quickly, cracks may appear in the structure; - Do not move the fireplace while in useâthe surface becomes extremely hot;
- Keep flames away from the walls of the fire pit, as high heat may damage them;
- Always use the steel mesh spark screen to protect against flying embers and sparks;
- After use, please clean the fireplace, but leave a thin layer of ash at the bottom to protect it;
Do not remove hot ash or coalsâwait until they have completely cooled down; - To extinguish the fire, you may smother it with sand;
Do not use water, as it may damage the fireplace; - Once the fire pit has cooled down, please place the cover back on – thank you!
